Being in love can make a person more caring, happy, or sympathetic; However, this can have a downside. Love can cause problems in and out of the relationship. Similar romantic problems occurred in the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. The power of love often consumes reasoning and common sense, leading to serious consequences. This theme is illustrated by Romeo's actions, the entire play, and the actual music/art. To begin with, Romeo, blinded by his love for Juliet, was unable to see the consequences of his actions. For example, Romeo sneaked into Capulet's garden to see Juliet. “For stony boundaries cannot hold back love, and what love can do is what love dares to attempt.” That’s why your parents don’t stop me” (II.ii.72-74). In this response, Romeo reveals that he does not care about the consequences of his actions. He is madly in love, he has lost his common sense. To add fuel to the fire, Romeo dares to risk death to be with Juliet. “But you love me, let them find me here.” It would be better for my life to end in their hatred, rather than in prolonged death, for want of your love” (II.ii.81-83). His words reveal that he has completely lost his mind and cannot see the reality of the situation. Romeo's world revolves around the sun, Juliet, and he can't bear to lose her. Later in the play, this idea in Romeo's head will lead to serious consequences such as suicide. Finally, Romeo decides to commit suicide after Juliet's "death". “The doors of breath, seal them with a righteous kiss, a dateless bargain for a captivating death” (V.iii.113-115). Romeo's action shows that his love for Juliet is real; However, he was so in love that he lost his common sense and could not make wise decisions. Romeo's journey...... middle of paper ...... on the other side there are blue and purple hues. This work of art can be conveyed as a relationship. Red and yellow represent love in the relationship, however, dark colors express the trap of loss of reasoning and common sense in the relationship. In short, the power of love can cause bad choices and result in serious consequences, and this theme is expressed through a variety of current music and paintings. To emphasize again, the theme of love is represented through Romeo's actions, the entire play and modern works. art/music. Yet the immense power of love can lead to poor choices and a loss of common sense, which could have disastrous consequences. Love can make two people happy, but it can also cause pain. It's difficult to understand but one thing is certain, in a literary world where love falls between two star-crossed lovers, the outcome is never a happy ending..
