Essay / Essay on the Legalization of Marijuana - 1594
The current situation is undoubtedly bad; but rare are the situations so serious that they cannot be aggravated by a bad political decision. Therefore, we must recognize the fact that drugs are not legalized, otherwise we would be creating an environment. Legalizing marijuana may seem harmless, but it has far more negative effects on people and society. There are already treatments for diseases like cancer and epilepsy, so why do we need to use marijuana to treat these conditions? Marijuana is already harmful and it only relieves pain, it does not cure it. There is also another reason for not legalizing marijuana, the fact that if this drug were legalized, strong law enforcement agencies would have to be in place and more taxpayer money would be spent, thus ultimately leading to to an increase in taxes, which everyone hates. There are many alternative medications, such as painkillers, that can also relieve pain, such as gateway drugs called benzodiazepines and barbiturates. So there should be no reason to legalize marijuana. More people are affected by weed consumption than benefited from it. This drug is not addictive, but it certainly leads to the use of more powerful drugs that eventually kill someone. There are many different ways to treat patients without using marijuana.
