  • Essay / Theme of Injustice in the Crucible - 1005

His lies grew worse and worse as the days passed. She continued to try to keep herself out of trouble and get the justice everyone deserved. She ended up running away with all her secrets and guilt, just to save herself. Others were punished while she fled. This does not demonstrate justice at all. She knew her problems, but she continued to lie and say that no one talked about her, and if they did, it was a lie. Parris says: “My niece, sir, my niece, I believe she has disappeared” (1322). Everyone in town knew her name was corrupted, but if they said anything against Abigail, they would be accused of something. Once everyone knew Abigail and Proctor, she ended up running from her guilt, which is never good. Her desire to hide her guilt led her to run away from her problems. Running away from problems is not a demonstration of justice, but simply an injustice to all.
