  • Essay / Need to change the spelling rules of English

English is a tool for communication between people who do not use the same language. It is widely learned as a second language and many countries and global organizations use English as their official language. This is the reason why many people try to learn English, but unfortunately, mastering English is almost impossible. Because English does not have standardized spelling rules, many people who attempt to learn English, including those who use English as their first language, suffer from spelling problems. Due to this circumstance, the debate over whether or not English spelling rules should be standardized and reformed has been popular recently. In "Use Your Own," published by Wired Magazine in February 2012 and written by Anne Trubek, a writer, editor, and associate professor of rhetoric, composition, and English at Oberlin College, Anne Trubek argues that spelling rules English should change with technology. . In "A Case for and Against Proper Spelling," a transcript of NPR News' Talk of The Nation at www.npr.org, Anne Trubek argues that our fixation on correct spelling is outdated and Lee Simmon, senior editor at Wired Magazine, counters by arguing that these standards make communication possible. In "Why English Spelling Should Be Updated" at spellingsociety.org, written by Masha Bell, a retired teacher of English, German, Russian and French, Masha Bell argues that the basic spelling system English is more complicated than most languages. In a journal of "The Simplified Spelling Society" on orthographysociety.org, written by Justin B Rye, who holds a master's degree in linguistics from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, he responds against 13 objections to spelling reform. A "History of English Writing" video on YouTube, middle of paper......and what is happening so far and how the writing system was governed and influenced. The video indicates that technology is influencing English spelling and introducing new words. Technology takes us away from the rules. Changing English spelling rules is natural, normal and inevitable. We need to change the spelling rules along with the time. In conclusion, English spelling should be reformed to make it easier to remember. English is the most widely spoken language in the world, but it does not yet have standardized spelling rules and this causes difficulties for people. English should not be a barrier to achieving people's goals. We must stop resisting change. Along with the change of times and the development of technology, we must learn to embrace the new normal before it is too late.
