Essay / High Performance Computing and Enterprise Resources...
Major Issue Identification SummaryAt one point, HPC did not have a clear and concise way to visualize management reports. HPC has established itself as the leading chemical company in Asia and the world; its turnover was $10 billion, but it still wanted and needed to grow. HPC plans to achieve this by strengthening and consolidating its existing operations, extending operations and establishing new businesses. The problem arises at the level of the management of its generalized outfits. HPC needs a more reliable, consistent and trustworthy set of reports to visualize and make critical decisions, as these reports must provide accurate real-time information on management performance, sales and cost reduction . The problem with the current reports is that they are not accurate. The old HPC system presented managers with sterilized reports to improve the appearance of departments and individuals. This scenario will break a business because faulty data will be sent up the chain of command for review and analysis. The reports were monotonous and only presented intermittently. (Laudon, 2013) To streamline this business process, HPC needs a better, real-time, up-to-date reporting tool that executives can access at any time and view untouched raw data. HPC chose SAP Business Objects Dashboards and SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. The issue always comes down to planning, cost, return on investment, what is needed, what is not needed, timing of deployment and training of staff. The information systems department took the lead and met with executives to draw up a list of existing reports and measure the practicality of each. Another challenge was waiting for HPC to be proficient and skilled with the ERP software, and its...... middle of paper...... company with its business goals. This can be accomplished by selecting which information to disseminate throughout the organization and vendors. This information allows end users, employees and suppliers to pay attention to the most critical information made available. (Business Intelligence)Works citedBusiness Intelligence. (nd).
