    It's a story about the love of war, the love of brotherhood, the love of friendship, the love of family. It’s also about what could have been and what couldn’t be. O'Brien focuses more on raw emotion, but not just the emotion of the soldier but also the emotion of the audience. Different audiences ranging from readers who experienced the war to readers who will come well after the war. With these stories, O'Brien is trying to tell us a story about his emotion. Its true goal is to take its reader back to the war so that they can feel the emotion of that moment. What I learned about Tim O'Brien's reasoning is that he uses fiction to tell his story. With fiction, he could tell his stories from multiple points of view, even if the theme is the same, the details still differ. With details, O'Brien can evoke any type of emotion through his form and the language he uses to speak. The more details there are, the more we, the readers, feel the need to care. Create the need to put ourselves in this person situation. The need to pity the characters, because it's so
