    One of the main characters in Harper Lee's book To Kill A Mockingbird is a lawyer named Atticus Finch. He lives in a town called Maycomb. Atticus has two children, named Jem & Scout. Throughout the story, Atticus teaches his children many of the noble characteristics that Atticus possesses within him. The main characteristics that Atticus possesses and also teaches are integrity, knowledge of the concept of equality, courage, and empathy. Integrity is when you know and do what is right. Atticus demonstrates integrity when he continues to represent Tom Robinson. This shows that the whole town is against Tom Robinson and feels that Atticus should not represent him. He did what was right by not caring what others said because he has a strong moral code. He knows and understands that it would be a mistake if he didn't represent Tom, purely because of his race. Additionally, he continually visits Tom's family to see how they are doing. This shows that he cares about the well-being of the people and doesn't care what anyone in town has to say about him behind his back....
