Essay / It's hard to find a dysfunctional family in a good man
They stop at "The Tower" for a barbecue when they come across Red Sammy's famous barbecue. The family enters the tower and starts playing old music, dancing and relaxing. Red Sammy's wife comes to tell the family about June's beauty while she dances to her tap routine, but June is not amused by her flattery. Once again, the grandmother is ashamed of the reaction of a lady like June. The grandmother also asks Sammy if he has heard anything about the criminal on the loose, Sammy's wife replies "I wouldn't be at all surprised if he didn't attack this place right here", (QUOTE HERE) Sammy responds with "It's hard to find a good man," Red Sammy said. "Everything is getting terrible. I remember when you could leave and leave your screen door open. Not anymore." (QUOTE HERE) After eating, they got back on the road to ride again. Later, the grandmother woke up to her own snoring in Toombsboro and she remembered a plantation with six white columns along the front and oak trees leading up to it. She decided that since Bailey didn't want to take her there, she would lie about there being a secret panel in the house that had the children cut and eventually Bailey gave in and started going down into the dirt.
