We would much rather sit and watch a show about rich, superficial housewives arguing over trivial issues, or New Yorkers living in huge apartments that they can magically afford, despite having jobs that pay moderate wages, or no work at all. It's surprising how this problem continues to get worse as the years go by and the only thing that diminishes is the attention we give to it. I kept noticing that the more I looked, the less I felt like they didn't want poverty in America to become such a big problem since we are considered a rich, stinking country and yet we have d huge debts to surrounding countries and can barely manage to maintain ourselves without collapsing. The media is the reason why poverty in the United States does not appear as often and when examined we get incomplete stories or articles that do not allow the reader to find the point of the article.
