    “People often say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I say that the most liberating thing about beauty is realize that you are the spectator,” according to Salma Hayek. . Society should have a positive outlook on body image, rather than facing a disorder that can be life-changing. Negative body image can result from the media, with Photoshop and editing, celebrity fad diets, and society's view of the perfect image. A negative body image can lead to dangerous eating disorders, such as bulimia and anorexia. It can also lead to risks of unhealthy habits, such as smoking, alcohol and drugs. It is important to highlight the effects of body image because the world is still struggling with this issue today. Society should not be affected by media, disorder and pressure by making unhealthy choices and having a negative view of body image. The media has a horrible view of society that wants people to have the “perfect image”. The models are retouched and published in magazines to be impeccable (Jean Kilbourne). The media uses a “digital regime”; where editors shave the sides of models, giving them the correct shape (Jean Kilbourne). Once the magazine is published, it won't be the same person who took the photo, it will be someone perfect. The look designed as the “image of Barbie”. The media selects not only the models, but also the actors. Actors are made to “fit the part or part” (Jean Kilbourne). Whether you are blonde, brunette, tall, short, thin or tall; it depends on the role they play. Sometimes directors focus only on the image of a person and not on the acting, but sometimes a director is interested in the acting rather than the image.
