    Build-A-Bear and Mentoring: Building Mentoring Capacity through the Build-A-Bear Workshop Build-A- CEO Bear, Maxine Clark, left her corporate career to follow her vision. She is the founder of the Build-A-Bear empire and has enjoyed great success since founding the company in 1997. Her great success has put her in a great position to give back to others. She now serves as a mentor to young entrepreneurs and business students. We will interweave the experiences Maxine Clark has used in business throughout her career and how those experiences are measured under the Career Stage Model as outlined in Chapter 17. Each of the team members will discuss in-depth look at one of the four stages of the model with many examples not only from Ms. Clark but from other companies as well. Our overall focus for each stage will be the discussion of mentoring programs. We will provide examples and professional studies that discuss the differences between a formal mentoring program and an informal mentoring program. Below are the four stages and the team members who will present each.• The Establishment Stage (Brandon Witzel)• The Advancement Stage (Yancy Jimenez)• The Maintenance Stage (Josh Woods) Although Maxine Clark had found several paths to success throughout her career journey, she would come to a point in her life where that success would stagnate and she would need a new adventure in her career. For many, maintenance stage is a misnomer in the concept of career stage. In the book Organization Behavior, it talks about career growth at a slower pace.
