Change in America is rare, especially when it comes to women's rights. Women's rights seem to be a war already won (Hass); However, what Americans don't realize is that the war is far from over. “Americans would like change once they learn about gender inequalities, such as wage inequality” (Tran). Wage inequality is just one of the problems linked to inequality. Feminism could solve these problems. Feminism changed America little by little. Over the years, feminism continues to change American society and the way women are treated. So, feminism could be the change America needs. The problem with feminism is that people don't understand exactly what it is. They confuse him with women complaining about sexism. The definition of feminism is “the theory of political, economic and social equality of the sexes; organized activity in the name of the rights and interests of women”, while the definition of sexism is “prejudice or discrimination based on sex; behaviors, conditions, or attitudes that promote gender-based social role stereotypes” (“Merriam”). Feminism is associated with sexism. Feminism is the branch of sexism that focuses on women's rights. “Women have all the constitutional rights that men have,” but not all of these rights are enforced (Wachter). White men are born with rights, but women and African Americans are not. Along with the civil rights movement, the women's liberation movement was also growing. Women won their rights alongside African Americans. The fight was long and hard, but they obtained their rights. They won their right to vote and the opportunity to get better jobs.
