Essay / Charlotte's Web by EB White - 678
Charlotte's WebCharlotte's Web is a children's book written by EB White. It was illustrated by Grath Williams. The book was published in 1952 by Harper and Brothers. Charlotte's Web was published three years after he began writing it. EB White was born July 11, 1899. He was born in Mount Vernon, New York. He died on October 1, 1985. Charlotte's Webwas voted the best children's book in a 2012 school survey. EB White was born in Mount Vernon, New York. He served in the military before going to college. He graduated from Cornell University with a Bashelor of Arts degree in 1921. At Cornell, he worked as editor of the Cornell DailySun. He was also a member of the Aleph Samach, Quill and Dagger, and Phi Gamma Delta societies. During this trip he received the nickname Andy. White was not only known for the children's book Charlotte's Web, he also wrote the children's book Stuart Little in 1945. The main character in Charlotte's Web is said to be Wilbur the Pig. The pig was very important in the book, without it they would never have been able to win the caravial prize. Wilbur was a very special pig. He could talk and he was Fern's best friend. In reality, the pig would not be credible. No pig around here can talk or do some of the things Wilbur was able to do. I don't think Wilbur reacted the way I would. He was a humble person and he didn't know how to go about certain things. I am an open person and I can talk to anyone. I would say the antagonist of this book should be the father. At the beginning of the story, the father wanted to kill the pig because it was too small. Even though Fern was... middle of paper ......e to save the day. She created a new painting that caught everyone's attention and changed the judges' minds. After that, Charlotte won and was ready to compete again. My favorite quote from the book is "The pig couldn't help but be born small, could he? If I had been born very small, would you have killed me?" You can find this quote on page 3. I would recommend this book to everyone. read. It's a great story and can teach a lesson to anyone. I really liked it! This teaches a lesson. This shows that just because you're small doesn't mean you can't do everything everyone else does. Even though it is a children's book, everyone should take the time to read it. This is my summary of Charlotte's Web. I hope you enjoyed it so much that you thought about reading it yourself. I know I'm glad I took time out of my day to read it. I hope you will.
