The imbalance between public and private school sports teams does not need to be adjusted. Private schools offer an additional service that public schools cannot offer. This service goes from better teachers to better coaches. There are no rules on how they can raise money for their athletic programs, unlike public schools. Due to athletic success, more and more student athletes want to attend private schools. Which gives the student athlete a better opportunity to be recruited. No, private schools don't need to be adapted, public schools need to improve their outlook on athletics. One thing that a lot of public schools do very well is make them attraction schools for the arts, theater and sciences, but they never get to the topic of athletics. This is the reason why public schools fail to achieve the distinctions of private schools. When you look at private schools, the expectations of parents and students are to have qualified coaches and parents are willing to pay for that level of expertise. When will the public school system improve its fields and weight rooms compared to those of private schools? Private schools have set the bar at a level where we should be. Why do we tell our students every day to work hard and you will get rewards. We don't ask our student-athletes to lower their standards, so why should we? The number one goal of any high school athletic department is to help student-athletes. (Austin, 2012-13) When you look at private schools, they achieve these goals. It's all about the wealthy, and those with the most money win. In this case, it is private schools.
