Across the world, alternative fuels are being developed to replace the use of gasoline and dependence on oil. In addition to replacing dependence on gasoline and oil, these alternative fuels are there to prevent pollution, to prevent pollutants from entering the atmosphere and affecting the environment. “Alternative fuels have been around for a long time, since the 1900s when the first electric car was introduced, gasoline cars were more difficult to produce and start at the time” (History of Alternative Fuels). This is why people are looking for alternative fuel to make a car run better. At that time, what led to alternative fuels was a better way to make vehicles run better, but what really led to the development of alternative fuels was preventing global warming. They are needed to produce fewer emissions and improve the global climate. If the use of conventional fuels continues to grow worldwide, it could lead to global warming and harm the planet and human lives, as the gases released by conventional fuels are not good to inhale. The question everyone is asking is whether alternative fuels serve their purpose and are they worth it. Some people might consider alternative fuels important and others might not care, but they should because they serve their purpose by improving the climate and producing lower levels of emissions. Alternative fuels are important to produce fewer emissions and avoid climate change, because otherwise the results of using conventional fuels could lead the world to global warming. When looking for these alternative fuels, you have different options to choose from, but all serve the same purpose: replacing conventional fuels and reducing dependence on oil.
