    “Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words,” said one day Robert Frost. As this quote makes quite clear, Frost was a skillful thinker. It seems like he spent a lot of his life thinking about the little things. He often thought about the meaning and symbolism of things he found in nature. Many readers find Robert Frost's poems simple, but his work contains deeper layers of complexity beneath the surface. His poems are not what they seem at first glance. These deeper layers of complexity are clearly visible in his poems “The Road Not Taken,” “Fire and Ice,” and “Birches.” Robert Lee Frost was born March 26, 1874 in San Francisco. When his father died, he moved to Massachusetts with his family to be closer to his grandparents. He enjoyed staying active through sports and activities like trapping animals and climbing trees. He married his fellow valedictorian, Elinor Miriam White, in 1895. He dropped out of Dartmouth and Harvard during his life. Robert and Elinor settled on a farm in Massachusetts, which his grandfather bought for him. It was one of many farms he would live on throughout his life. Frost spent the next 9 years writing poetry while raising poultry. When poultry farming didn't work out, he went back to teaching English. He moved to England in 1912 and became friends with many people who also worked in the field of writing. After returning to America in 1915, Frost purchased a farm in New Hampshire and began reading his poems aloud at public gatherings. Unexpectedly, he suddenly experienced many family disasters.
