Kristin ThompsonMs. Logan pays tribute to the history of the United StatesFebruary 26, 2014“We cannot remain huddled within our own borders and admit that we are simply an assemblage of well-off peddlers who don't care about what happens beyond. a policy would go against its own objective; for as nations grow and have wider and wider interests and are brought closer and closer together, if we are to stand firm in the struggle for naval and commercial supremacy, we must build our dowry without our own borders. 1899, Theodore Roosevelt published his book The Strenuous Life. Imperialism is a policy used by stronger nations to extend their political, economic, or military control to weaker nations around the world. American imperialism existed between 1890 and 1913. President Theodore Roosevelt was a very influential person during the era of American imperialism. The military background gave Roosevelt a very strong following, so when the idea of imperialism was presented to American citizens by Roosevelt through speeches, the minds of the citizens quickly changed. Roosevelt asserted that “we do not admire the timid man of peace. We admire the man who embodies the victorious effort.” The United States wanted to expand because it wanted a stronger military, industrialization, and many other reasons. After the start of American imperialism, there were many positive and negative effects like the construction of the Panama Canal. Panma also gained its independence and the United States also became a very powerful place in the world. The Philippines, Alaska, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Guam and Mexico, all places in the world that the United States was involved in during the era of imperialism. of paper......e The United States should have negotiated with the Colombian government or we should have left the situation alone. From what I've read about US involvement in Colombia during the Imperial era, I think it was a bit unnecessary because I just believe that if something isn't yours, you should leave him alone. Even though at present the United States and Colombia no longer have any major problems between them, things like this could really cause major problems. I believe that talking things out and negotiating agreements verbally just helps to end situations better. I think Americas involvement in this area has neither positive nor negative effects on people's lives, because people have adapted to the change. I believe that if this had not happened there would be a very big change in world history..
