In each generation, many men and women have influenced cultures, whether politically, scientifically, economically or religiously. Although every generation has its influencers, only a handful of men and women have become multi-generational cultural dominators. Charles Darwin became a multi-generational cultural dominator thanks to his dramatic life and controversial opinions. Charles Darwin, loved and hated, forever changed the scientific world with his theories. Charles Robert Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, England on February 12, 1809. Darwin had five other siblings and grew up in a privileged home (Berra 6). Darwin's father was a well-known doctor and his mother died when he was eight years old. Charles Darwin came from a long line of family members who appreciated science, and his grandfather was a notable botanist. As a child, Darwin loved nature and insects.
