When we are young, we acquire the ability to form an opinion on religion. This is important because most people in the world have a religion. However, sometimes many people spend their entire lives living in one religion. For this reason, these people will always defend it if someone decides to question their religion. When this happens, we find that religion gets in the way of critical thinking. For example, some people might not accept someone because their religion doesn't allow it. Additionally, it can cause someone to have biased opinions on certain issues. These times are bad because they can turn someone away from the faith and cause them to hate others. It is clear that religion is bad for critical thinkers because it can create prejudices in people, cause religious stereotypes, cause people to jump to conclusions without doing research, and turn someone away from religion. We often find that religion affects people's biases. A good example of this when discussing the borders of the State of Israel. It’s a debate that many people have been discussing for decades. However, there was never any progress towards peace. This is because Israelis support the borders after the 1967 war. Furthermore, they believe that Israel is the homeland of the Jewish people and that they should have the right to control it. However, Arabs believe in the pre-1967 borders. Moreover, because they believe that Israel is a holy place and they should have control over it. In America, when people discuss this debate, we often find Jews siding with Israel and Muslims siding with the Arabs (http://www.foxnews.com/). The reason for this is that, members of both of these groups are in the middle of a paper...which for us, we often find that we defend it every chance we get. This is appropriate in many cases; However, there are times when religion can prevent someone from becoming a critical thinker. For example, we often find that land can cause religion to get in the way of critical thinking. Also, if someone makes a mistake and says something that insults people of your religion. Additionally, religious stereotypes can cause someone to have a low opinion of certain religions. . Finally, we often find that new issues affecting our generation have caused religion to prevent people from becoming critical thinkers. All of these things prevent someone from becoming a critical thinker. It is clear that if we removed the religious aspect of their arguments, we might be able to create a better world and a safer place for everyone who lives on this earth..
