Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. is a leading casino service provider. It is considered the world's largest supplier of similar products. The company's goods are branded as Harrah's (right), Caesars (right), and Horseshoe (right). Harrah's still owns the World Series of Poker (R) and London Clubs International family of casino entertainment (Banker, 2011). Harrah's strengths in the gainsharing program are highlighted by the incentive compensation plan. This is one of Harrah's strategies to encourage employees to work hard in the services they provide to customers. Strategy has a strong influence on motivating workers to improve their performance. In the process, workers compete with each other to improve their individual performance and thus lead to an increase in the performance level of the casino. As the casino's performance level increases, rival casinos receive healthy competition. The strategy conveys a message of respect and reward to workers, despite the fact that the company is customer and revenue oriented. The customer service performance of workers in a given department or building acts as an indicator of how much of the reward to receive. Workers are rewarded on the condition that they improve their service to customers. The award is not based on the financial status of the company. So, even in periods when the casino suffers a loss, workers still receive their rewards. The Total Rewards program was an effective tool for collecting information from customers and understanding what they like and don't like. Workers were encouraged to provide the best services to customers. The gaming service sometimes results in a loss for a customer. But for a customer who keeps in mind that he has received the best service, he is bound to be motivated. This saves the customer from feeling the pain of a loss in the gambling operation. The managers of the various Harrah's properties receive bonuses that are determined by operating income.
