In this particular counseling setting, the emphasis is on the interaction of family members and involves interventions that affect the entire family system (Henderson , 2016). Systems theory is organized into units composed of different parts, which are a circular pattern of which A causes B and B causes A (Henderson, 2016). Systemic family theory views human nature from a positive perspective, whereby people are rational and have the capacity to make choices (Henderson, 2016). Many concepts described in family systems theory are based on connection, solidarity, and conflict that lead an individual to take responsibility for their role within the family..
