This area was known as Devil's Acre and was considered one of the worst areas of London; it is central London, located on the north bank of the River Thames. Purcell had two other brothers: Edward and Daniel Purcell. Daniel Purcell was the youngest brother and he was also known as the famous composer who wrote the music for the majority of the last act of The Indian Queen after the death of his brother (Henry). Purcell was a composer of the Baroque period; in the 19th century, the Baroque period was used to describe Western European art music. It was an era that lasted for decades and varied with musical artists from all European countries like England, France, Spain, etc. Many famous musicians we know today are from these areas. Purcell was one of those geniuses who possessed a talent that inevitably had to be explored. This happened between the years 1600 and 1750. There were many famous composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Handel; Johann Bach was a German composer and musician who also belonged to the Baroque period. He creates new musical styles and harmonic organization. Bach composed many sonatinas and other famous pieces.
