Mark Twain wrote The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to expose the hypocrisy of racism and religion in society. Jim was a very caring person; he took care of his family and Huck. Although Jim was a superior human being, he was seen, in the eyes of society, as inferior to Pap simply because of the color of his skin. In 2014, this mentality of white superiority should not exist; however, it does. Recently, a photo comparing Richard Sherman (black) of the Seattle Seahawks to Justin Bieber (white) made the rounds on social media. Justin Bieber was arrested for drunk driving and marijuana possession the same week that Richard Sherman went on an angry rant that got him called a thug. The sentence at the top of the image read: "Who is the real thug?" » Below Sherman's photo, he listed his accomplishments: 4.2 GPA in high school, high school...... middle of paper ...... in the name of Islam as a religious duty.
