First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to express a thousand thanks to my beloved lecturer, MNY, for all her hard work in imparting skills and to pass on useful knowledge to my friends and me. The learning experience with her throughout the semester is very enjoyable and fun. Regarding the assignment relating to the topic Teaching Listening and Speaking Skills in the Primary ESL Classroom, we are required to produce a lesson plan as well as conduct micro-teaching focused on speaking skills. listening and speaking. During the process of completing this assignment, I gained many beneficial experiences. Based on the micro-teaching carried out, I have identified some strengths and weaknesses which I can use to improvise my teaching skills for future purposes. Before the micro-teaching session, we need to produce an individual lesson plan tailored to a topic in the KSSR English curriculum. Specification. For the individual task, I chose the theme “Safari Park” for the 3rd year students of KSSR. The activities I have planned are “Viewing Pictures”, “Action Song” and “Missing Lyrics”. All activities are carried out to improve students' listening and speaking skills as well as to improve their vocabulary. According to Willis (2008), by hearing a song, students can improve their musical and rhythmic intelligence, which is related to responsiveness to listening or interpreting music. Therefore, the activity of listening and singing the song can help students develop their listening skills. Apart from this, music can arouse students' interest in learning because listening to music is fun and relaxing.
