Baba's dilemma between Amir and Hassan made him suppress his emotions: "Your father was a man torn between two halves, you and Hassan, he loved you both but he could not love Hassan as he desired, openly and openly . as a father, he took it out on you instead” (Rahim Khan, 301). Eventually, Baba gave up the respect and pride he had within the Afghan community and moved to America and began working at a gas station. just to give Amir a better standard of living. He was never able to adopt America but he endured all the hardships for his son. No matter how Baba treated him, Amir always admired Baba and desired his love and
