    Alcohol abuse is part of a disorder that affects many people around the world. Many are aware of the problems that the disorder can cause not only for the victim, but also for the people around the person suffering from the psychological problem. There are different areas that can be discussed regarding alcoholism. According to Coon and Mitterer (2013), a substance use disorder occurs when there is abuse or dependence on a psychoactive drug. Alcohol is a substance that can become abusive and have negative effects on a person's body. Alcohol is a substance that can cause behavioral effects such as behavioral effects, physical changes, and social changes. A good solution to alcohol abuse can be Alcohol Anonymous, an organization that helps people addicted to alcohol. Alcohol abuse can be very dangerous because it can occur at a time when a person is going through bad times in their life. The only thing drugs do is make people's lives worse, because the victim's behavior can change dramatically. Many drink at social events, to party or to relax. The problem is that many drinkers end up drinking more than their body can handle. According to the National Institute for Combating Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (2014), alcohol enters the bloodstream from the first sip and acts on the body in just ten minutes. The amount then increases depending on the amount of drinks and the effects range from impairment, breathing problems, slurred speech and coma. A young adult is more likely to experience a change in mood and behavior because they are middle of paper...... members who have experience helping others get sober. Alcohol Anonymous is a great place to start and so is support from family members and friends. Alcohol abuse can affect many aspects of a person's lifestyle and includes many ingredients that affect the human body, but there is hope for those struggling to overcome their addiction.
