It enshrines a certain number of environmental rights which are summarized in the primordial right to a clean and healthy environment. Conventionally, environmental rights aim to guarantee the right to a quality environment. However, Kenya's 2010 constitution contains "a little more detail" on the same aspect; it is remarkable that “everyone has the right to a clean and healthy environment, which includes the right to have the environment protected for the benefit of present and future generations…” the expression “clean and healthy environment” is here considered as 'qualifying terms' to the environment
