Before Cole went to the island, he didn't forgive anyone. . He had a chip on his shoulder and had no respect for anyone. He beat Peter and knew nothing but to fight. When he first arrived on the island he blamed everyone for sending him to the island, he never thought he was the problem. Later, on the island, he almost died after being attacked by the spirit bear. Being attacked really changed him. When he returned to the island after recovering from his injuries, he learned to forgive. He then forgave himself for everything he had done, like beating Peter and letting his anger get to him. He learned to forgive by dancing the dance of anger on the island. He really changed by the end of the book and learned to forgive. Before Cole went to the island, he was very angry. He went to 12 detention centers and he hated everyone. He denied having anger issues, beat Peter, and blamed others. He then turned to circular justice just to avoid prison. At first, he didn't want to heal and change his ways. While on the island, he tried to escape by swimming. He failed to swim away and remained... middle of paper ... Peter and Cole then had to try to heal themselves by learning to forgive, overcome anger, and learn to have a clean attitude. spirit. Over the course of the book, he learned to forgive and went from having a chip on his shoulder and blaming everyone to learning to forgive by clearing his mind and forgiving himself during a dance. By the end of the book, he learned to overcome his anger by beating Peter and dancing the Anger Dance. By the end of the book, he also had a clear mind. At first, he wasn't very clear-headed and let anger cloud his judgment. When Cole was on the island for the second time, he learned to have a clear mind by dancing, dipping, and rolling the ancestor rock.
