An unaware person could completely ignore the horrific events related to the French Revolution, if it had been named differently. The title of these events is appropriate from my point of view. These four words could easily interest a curious, ordinary person, and so the story can survive, along with the information transferred to another medium. Of course, everyone can benefit from knowing a few terms that can improve your understanding of the subject. An absolute monarch is a person who holds absolute power over his people. The Estates General is a representative body from the three “States” into which society was theoretically divided. A fraternity is a group of people who share a common profession or interests. A radical person is someone who advocates thorough or complete political or social reform. The device used to execute most people was the guillotine: a machine with a heavy blade sliding vertically in grooves, used to decapitate people. The Reign of Terror is generally defined as a period of ruthless repression or bloodshed, but in particular it is the Period of Terror during the French Revolution. Conservatives are people who hold to traditional attitudes and values ​​and are wary of change or innovation. Now that we can talk about our topic with a better knowledge of the terms typically used for this topic, we can address the question at hand. Was the reign of terror justified? A staggering number of people have died for good and bad reasons. Every system was corrupt, there was virtually no good or evil; no order, just rebellion. Many conflicting arguments can be made, but there is one definitive decision to be made in this situation...... middle of paper ...... infinite decision to be made in this situation. King Louis XVI attempted to rule his country with an absolute monarchy, but his plan backfired considerably. The result was that citizens rightly revolted, but the situation took an extreme turn. The determination of the people must have been considerable because the government had to send armies to try to conquer them. The only answer to this question is no. The Reign of Terror was not justified because it was ridiculous. It started with a central plan that was supposed to protect the people, but was corrupted into a hypersensitive and unjust massacre. The country's population was forced to rebel by its greedy leaders, and countless lives were lost, as well as time, energy and money. I can only hope that the United States of America will remain grounded and that we will not be forced to rebel like the countries of the Middle East..
