“The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. The story behind this poem is that Frost had spent 3 years in England with his close friend Edward Thomas, he was commonly considered a war poet. They took many walks together in the parks during which they talked. When Robert Frost returned to New Hampshire in 1915, he had sent Thomas a copy of "The Road Not Taken" and was meant to be a nice way to make fun of indecision. Specifically being the indecision Thomas had shown when they took their walks together. But Robert Frost didn't want this poem to be about Thomas, but just about the theme of how the poem unfolds and the main idea of how decisions are made. The poem “The Road Not Take” has a very deep meaning in terms of its meaning and exactly how you interpreted it. Many people misunderstand the meaning of the poem and quickly jump to conclusions.
