    Do you agree with Albert? INTRODUCTION I can't find the right words to start a new chapter in my life. It is no longer just a research paper intended for a school class. This symbolizes the beginning of what I wanted to do since I arrived in Santa Clara a few years ago. I wanted a philosophy that made sense to me personally; one that doesn't have to conform to everything I've studied so far. This is my chance. Although the format I chose is not the most elegant, it organizes my thoughts in the clearest way. My thoughts are summarized like a journal starting with my first impressions and moving quickly from one idea to another in an effort to understand Fritjof Capra's The Tao of Physics. DAY 1—PRELUDE TO LITERATURE Growing up as a young boy in Mallorca, Spain, I attended Sunday Mass with my mother and brother every week, without ever really thinking about it – it was just something we did by habit. I was happy to be a Roman Catholic for as long as I could remember until a very important episode in the fall of 1996. I was in the process of enrolling in my new high school (Catholic for the first time) when I noticed there was a special discount. for practicing Catholics. Of course, to prove your religious affiliation, a letter from the pastor of your church had to be submitted. It was at this point that my faith in institutionalized religion dropped significantly. For my family to be recognized as practicing in our church, it was necessary to donate a minimum sum of $250 per year. Typically, my mother would drop off a few dollars when the collection basket was delivered, but the parish had no way of determining how much was actually donated. If there was no record of family contributions, the letter could not be written. To clarify this discrepancy, they offered a personalized envelope to place in the collection basket to regulate the amount of money we actually donated. Suddenly, a check for $250 was given and a letter of recommendation resulting in a $1,000 waiver was sent. From that day on, I could no longer face the institutionalized Church and since then I have looked for other sources of inspiration in different religions, especially in Eastern philosophy...
