Essay / Democratization in Taiwan and South Korea - 2043
IntroductionHuman civilization encompasses many aspects. Among them is the ideology of democratization. Democratization is an unstoppable and indispensable process in the governance structures of the 21st century. East Asia is currently experiencing a transition from other ancient forms of government to a process of democratization of governance. Thus, after many years of struggle in development programs, East Asian nations are restructuring their systems to redefine their development process by instituting this democratization. In this generation, and generations to come, democratization is the only tool capable of advancing the collective national development agenda to new, higher platforms. It is a process that has been tested and proven to be effective. Its institution, implementation and sustainability are remarkably notable in Taiwan and South Korea. What caused democratization? Economic empowerment in Taiwan and South Korea has undergone a number of transformations. Before democratization took place, authoritarian processes were in charge. This process contains some disguised elements of democracy, but in the true sense of the word, they are not democratic. This confirms why most democratic systems have authoritarianism as their precedent in the first place. This happens when camouflaged democracy blossoms into an unstoppable force that demands a new order of things. Although the process of authoritarianism provided a good platform for development in Taiwan and South Korea, it slowed development, especially where political will was lacking. It mostly depended on the type of leadership in place. If the political leader was not development oriented, the country would inevitably lag behind...... middle of paper...... they say it is a process that delays the process of taking decision, what they forget to know is that a solid decision that will bring development for all must be taken collectively. Even though the decision-making process can take time, the wait is worth it because what is adopted is accepted by everyone and is long-term. This means that long-term development programs can be formulated and implemented very easily. This is very clear from the series of positive transformations and transfers that Taiwan and South Korea continue to exhibit since the introduction of this process. Today, these two countries are large emerging economies thanks to democratization. Once again, now that everyone feels part of this system, the citizens of each of these two nations continue to be unified by the diverse elements of this process and this proves beyond doubt that it is of a development tool..
