1.0History of Public Relations in MalaysiaMalaysia is one of the countries which have different races, religions and cultures. Races divided into three majority races including Malays, Chinese and Indians. Malays (57%) and Chinese make up the second largest population (25%), while Indians have the smallest population group (10%). Religions like Taoism and Buddhism are generally practiced by the Chinese, and Indians practice Hinduism, Islam is the dominant religion practiced by the Malays. And with different races and religions, people started spreading their own religion to others when no one even knew that this is what we call PR these days. Qualified publicists are a profession who have mastered the ethics of public relations and are able to present for a company or individual to the world. Public relations in Malaysia has been practiced for a very long time to gain support for the country and hence it has gained a good reputation all over the world when this article is going to talk about the history and development of public relations in Malaysia since the beginning of time to the present.2.0 Public Relations in MalaysiaDuring 1926, the Malaysian State Information Agency was established to meet the needs of the public relations functions of the government. The Department of Advertising and Printing was established 19 years later, after the establishment of the Information Agency, to take care of all the printing materials needed by the government as well as broadcasting. These areas include professional customer service, honesty, standards of behavior in handling service fees, and respect for member companies and staff. 5.0 Conclusion There is no doubt that public relations in Malaysia is evolving in the areas of politics, education, industries or media professionalism. However, the development of public relations should not depend on government alone. Private sector professionals should also contribute to the development of public relations. This can be achieved through a variety of professional training programs for young Malaysian practitioners and professional education. It is only through collaboration between government and the private sector that a national public relations officer can become a true professional..
