Essay / The Impact of Education on the American Dream - 1107
The first question was: What does the American Dream mean to you? Second question, what do you think of the education system in the United States today and third question, do you think there is inequality in the education that children receive? If yes, why. Responses to the first question showed that 100% of respondents associated education with the American dream. They believe that it is through education that the American dream exists. The answers to the second question show that 75% of those surveyed are not satisfied with the education their children receive. While the remaining 25% are satisfied with the education their children receive. For my third question, 75% of respondents believe that there is inequality because children of higher income parents receive a better education while children of lower income parents receive what they like to call a “second-hand education” (Carranza). While the remaining 25% believe that there is no inequality because we work for what we want, and that if parents want their children to get a better education, they must work hard for it. achieve. This survey shows two very different viewpoints and the only commonality between the two groups is that they both believe that education is the key to achieving the American goal.
