Question 1 If I were Gary Anderson, I would not accept the position of project manager after the director declared that this project would be his baby until bout (Dawn, 2010). This statement shows that the director will overshadow the project and potentially become an obstacle to the final outcome of the project. There is a possibility of conflict of interest. Question 2Gary was not qualified as a project manager. Gary's background was in production engineering (Dawn, 2010). In his seven years of experience at Parks Corporation, Gary has never been involved in project management in any capacity in the case study. Lack of prior experience disqualifies him as a good project manager. Gary's appointment was intended to ensure that Gable retained substantial control and ability to manipulate the project, which is a subjective qualification. Question 3 The first moral and ethical problem Gary faces is lying to the customer. From the beginning of the project, Gable made it clear that Gary had to be willing to lie to the client (Dawn, 2010). The second problem is Gary's quest to avoid overburdening the other team members. As a result, Gary ended up completing most of the project working sixteen hours a day. Gary delayed updating stakeholders, leading to project delays and unproductive meetings. Gary did not admit that he was poor at administrative work. Question 4Paul Evans should not have been allowed to report information to Gable before reporting to Gary because Gary was the leader of the project team while Gable was management support. This crack in leadership contributed to the breakdown in communication. Evans knew from experience that Gable was increasingly manipulative and needed to manipulate results before...... middle of document...... Question 9 Functional employees should not be allowed to make decisions on the project because they might make extravagant decisions that could have huge financial implications. Rather, functional employees should be allowed to contribute ideas and advice to improve the project. The project management team must have autonomy in decision-making. Question 10 It is possible to have a single project management methodology to specify morality and ethics in dealing with clients. Applying agile project management approaches like Atern provides a more inclusive approach for stakeholders, including consistent updating and review of strategies. When the project manager violates protocol, all stakeholders must come together, clarify the violation issues, and establish standards for all to follow.Works CitedDawn. (2010).
