    Online Transaction Security by ZapposThe Internet has revolutionized the way we live and do business. Electronic data interchange (EDI) paved the way for electronic commerce (electronic commerce) by replacing documents sent by mail and fax as digital data from one computer to another (Merchant, 2011). According to Merchant's article (2011), "Michael Aldrich, an English inventor, innovator and entrepreneur is credited with developing the predecessor of online shopping." According to Horn (2013), “in the mid-1990s, e-commerce was transformed with the introduction of Amazon and eBay,” which paved the way for many. By definition, e-commerce “refers to the buying and selling of goods and/or services through electronic channels, such as the Internet. Online retailing is convenient because of its 24-hour availability, global reach, and ease of customer service” (Horn, 2013). For many, e-commerce is something we participate in on a daily basis, such as paying bills online or purchasing from an e-tailer such as Zappos. Zappos creator Nick Swinmurn created “the website that offered the best selection of shoes in terms of brands, styles, colors, sizes and widths” (Zappos, 2005). Swinmurn created the website allowing people to buy from the company "with the best service and selection" (Zappos, 2005). Zappos' business is based on online purchases from its customers. We have to ask ourselves how are their customers assured to buy from their website? The purpose of the study is to find out if employees would engage in unethical behavior online due to personal (credit card) information provided by Zappos customers. Dishonesty is not only an excuse when employees are overwhelmed with work, but also when they steal information from customers for personal gain. When these employees have their own agendas to accomplish, in other words, employees try to multitask and miss important details that are necessary to focus on important tasks..
