    I believe that literal and spiritual immortality is impossible, but that genetic, memorial and historical immortality are achievable. In my opinion, literal immortality is medically impossible. This could never happen because the body's organs and muscles would wear out and stop functioning. For example, the heart is a muscle and would eventually stop working over time. Eventually, the lubrication in the joints dried out and moving became unbearably painful. In addition, the skin would lose its elasticity. I also don't believe in spiritual immortality because I don't believe anyone can live forever in heaven. My upbringing was greatly influenced by beliefs about immortality. My education has always focused more on science than religious views, mainly because schools are not allowed to discuss religious topics. I was taught about evolution in elementary school and since I had no religious background, it was the first explanation of what would happen after I died.
