He was born on February 24, 1955 and founded Apple Inc. with his high school friend Steve Wozniak in 1976. But later in 1976, when Apple was on the verge of bankruptcy, he returned as an advisor and Interim CEO. He made Apple profitable after near bankruptcy in 1998 (Walter Isaacson, 2013). From 1996 to 2011, he emerged as one of the world's top engineering leaders and built Apple into the world's most innovative company. WHY STEVE JOBS? failure. There can be many reasons for this failure, but one of the main reasons is lack of leadership qualities. Furthermore, the embodiment of these two qualities to the extreme was evidenced in Steve is rare in other leaders, perhaps we as a team are now thinking - how this set of conflicting behaviors can coexist in Steve Jobs (in a single human being). Transformational leadership is an extension of transactional leadership. The organization must maintain a foundation of transactional leadership while evolving its organizational culture toward one of the transformational qualities.
