    Almost everyone enjoys music, whether they listen to it or create music. However, creating music is about more than just someone's voice or their hands playing an instrument. Despite the universality of music, schools are still trying to get rid of music education programs. A child who is introduced to music learns to use multiple skill sets, often at the same time. Music education prepares students for learning by helping them develop their basic skills and abilities. Additionally, many students find music to be an enjoyable and relaxing course. Music education can influence learning in different ways throughout an adolescent's life. One of the positive aspects of music in a child's education is that it can be linked to student achievement (Southgate). Research shows that a musician's brain works differently than a non-musician's. When you are a musician or play an instrument, you have to use your brain more than the average person (Southgate). The musician uses different parts, parts that would never have been touched without music being part of his life. Students with musical education improved their sound intolerance and fine motor tasks (April). Research has also discovered a link between musical abilities and spars' intelligence (Southgate). This means that understanding music can help children imagine different elements that should go together, just as they would when solving math problems (Southgate). While these music lessons help teens understand their homework better, music education also helps improve their overall test scores (Southgate).
