ROMULUS MY FATHER ESSAYRomulus's individuals were shaped by their experiences. In the biography "Romulus My Father", the characters encounter many different situations and travel to foreign lands, these experiences shape and change the characters. In the novel, some characters experience depression, others come into conflict with each other, and some even die. From there, we see characters become independent, stronger, weaker, and even lose control and break down. Romulus meets a girl called Christine, although he likes her, he doesn't like every aspect of her personality, he changes her and adapts to her needs and desires. Romulus later has a metal breakdown and commits himself to a mental institution, as a result, Raimond becomes more independent and sees that his father is not indestructible. These are just a few of the many experiences that change and sculpt the characters throughout the novel. Romulus meets a girl named Christine, he is immediately attracted to her but quickly becomes aware of her characteristics and does not particularly agree with them. Although Romulus loved reading, church ritual and music, he confused Christine's passion for theater with snobbery. He took great care of her, Christine suffered from particularly severe asthma and Romulus then decided to move to Australia because it could improve his health. although Romulus did not want to move, he did so anyway because of Christine's health, "the severity of her asthma convinced him that they needed to find somewhere better for her health". This passage helps Romulus become a better provider in this new and different country, he takes on a strong provider role, but as Christine soon becomes flirtatious with the other men in their migrant camp, he also becomes a stronger role model by taking on the main role. cares about Raimond because Christine is not responsible enough. This strengthens the relationship between Romulus and his son, as he teaches his son valuable qualities and traits that will help him later in life. Christine becomes even more independent and Romulus takes Raimond with him to the camp work section. Swarba is a man who stays in the same building as Romulus and one day discovers that his aftershave is missing. Raimond is asked if he took it and instantly denies any wrongdoing, Romulus hits Raimond as he believes he is lying, Rainmond could not believe that stealing such a small bottle should be punished so harshly. “I stuck to my denial, and because he thought I was lying, he hit me harder.'.
