Some of us may not know the true definition of terrorism. This is the definition of terrorism; is the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political objectives. This may be the definition of terrorism, but the only story of the terrorists is that they are all Muslims. This is why everyone has stereotypes about Muslims. Yet “Danger of a Single Story” by Chimamda Adiche is proof that stereotypes are very dangerous. Adichie explains how unique stories have the power to lead people to stereotypes about the stories told by others. In particular, Paradise Now directed by Hany Abu-Assad emphasizes the celibacy of Muslims by showing their negative side. Paradise Now is a film about two Palestinian residents, Said and Khaled, who are on a mission to carry out suicide bombings and bomb the neighboring country, Israel. In contrast, Paradise Now encourages the audience to believe and accept the unique story of Muslims as terrorists, but it is not the unique story of Muslim people. As has been said, Paradise Now is a film about two guys, Said and Khaled, who live in Palestine. They work at an auto mechanic, but Khaled is fired because he doesn't get along with his colleagues. Jamal is the guy behind this mission. He asked Khaled and Said to become suicide bombers. Despite this, they both volunteer to carry out suicide attacks. After all, they are preparing them for the operation. Their mission is to bomb the neighboring country Israel. They prepare for the mission by having them shaved, bathed and dressed nicely. In order to make them look like Israelis. Equally important is the girl named Suha, who is the daughter of a well-known suicide bomber. Has some romantic interaction with Said. This is one of the latest... middle of paper ...... Muslims explain how wrong this is. Even if they are not all terrorists. The director is ashamed of some people living in Palestine and misrepresenting their religion. Also giving a negative view of Muslims. In conclusion, the danger of celibacy shows how Muslims have only one story about themselves. The only story about Muslims is that they are terrorists and ignorant. Paradise Now proves this message and this film is the unique story of Muslim people. Anyone who watches this film will have a single story that is enough to create stereotypes about Muslims. Without knowing how dangerous it could be to think of them in a certain way without knowing the real stories and facts about Muslims. Paradise Now shows how dangerous a single story can be and how a single story can ruin many lives. The lives of innocent Muslims.
