Improve EnergyHow much energy is used to simply charge a cell phone? Harmful fossil fuels are used to produce most of the energy used daily in the world. Although some believe fossil fuel industries are stable, enabling green jobs to produce and manage alternative energy sources would create a safer, more reliable, and healthier economy. What exactly is a green job? “The term 'green jobs' encompasses a number of areas, from jobs that increase energy efficiency and reduce waste, to those that protect biological diversity and decrease reliance on polluting technologies” (Griswold). Green jobs cover a wide range of categories, meaning they can be used to improve many aspects of daily life. The overall goal of creating green jobs is to bring about a fundamental change in the thinking process of consumers and producers about conservation issues (Griswold). If a substitute for energy and its management is not found, society will be destroyed, both environmentally and economically. This is detrimental to the economic survival of the United States. “…ecosystem-related issues are valued at between $2.9 and $38 trillion, compared to a global gross domestic product (GDP) of $54 trillion” (Griswold). Problems with the US ecosystem cost about half of global GDP, and no solutions have yet been found. By promoting the growth of the green jobs sector, these problems could be reduced, allowing more money to circulate in the economy. “The Obama administration's stimulus package contains a wide variety of energy efficiency incentives, from 30 percent rebates for home insulation and efficient window installation, to rebates for builders of energy-efficient buildings. ..I will be used?
