Jordan: Cultural Consciousness Jordan is one of the Arab states that has been most influenced by the West and uses it to shape its type of society and government. Jordan is an Arab country and is religiously and ethnically diverse, with Islam being the dominant religion. This Arab country has shown its diversity to its population regardless of their beliefs. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a predominantly Muslim country, with 90% of the population following Sunni Islam while a small minority of around 2% follows Sufism. Jordan also has an indigenous Christian minority, which makes up about 10% of the population, primarily Catholic, Church of the East, Eastern Orthodox, or Greek Orthodox. There are no legal restrictions against Jews, but in 2006 there would be no Jewish citizens. Since Jordan is predominantly Muslim, it may be vital to U.S. internal interests in the future to keep Jordan as an ally because of the importance that a Muslim Arab state can help and influence in other states. Arabs. Another important advantage is its location and having a port that could help in case of conflict in this region. By 632 AD, the Prophet Muhammad and his followers had united most of the tribes and cities of the Arabian Peninsula under the banner of the new monotheistic religion of Islam, whose aim was to unite the individual believer, the State and society under the almighty will of God. At this time, Islam was the most dominant and strongly enforced belief of the Arabs, a reflection of the rapid conquest of the Arab armies. As Jordan does not have a stable economic system, Jordan is vulnerable to external shocks and regional unrest. Without calm in the region, economic growth appears destined to remain below its potential and makes Jordan more likely to give in in conflict with other states if it is not supported financially and militarily by its allies...
