Essay / My thoughts on bus riding - 1039
Taking the bus for the first time was a great experience for me. I took the bus from Fayetteville State University to the transfer center which was in downtown Fayetteville. I wanted to visit at any time, so I had to take the bus back to its transfer point and then return to Fayetteville State University. My experience on the bus was great considering it was my first time riding the bus. Punctuality on routes was impressive, driver or operator was on time. The bus was on time (FSU) at 11:40 a.m. and was not late, it was within the regulation 5 minutes. Additionally, the operator was very friendly to the passengers who took the bus and yes, she knew almost everyone who was on the bus. She behaved professionally and even had to help some passengers who were having difficulty inserting their money into the fare box. And honestly I didn't even know how to insert my pass, she was kind enough to help me and let me know that the next time I take the bus this is how I should do it. , the bus departs from the Transfer Center (Downtown Fayetteville) to Fayetteville State University, via Murchison Rd/Jasper St, Murchison Rd/Country Club Dr, and University Estates. From the transfer center to FSU, the turnaround time was 10 minutes and the other stop was 5 minutes. The trip takes every 30 minutes and the speed at which the bus travels is approximately 30 to 40 miles per hour and all drivers must have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to operate a bus. The length of the trip was approximately 3-4 miles and the round trip time is 60 minutes or an hour. Travel time was every 30 minutes a bus leaving from the transfer center. The type of bus I took was low...... middle of paper ...... uh transfers, of which your pass is still valid for one additional bus ride. If you purchase a bus pass, you may be eligible for reduced fares. Generally, senior citizens, disabled people and students benefit from reduced fares for the bus pass. Additionally, all sales are final and if your pass expires, you cannot take or board the bus. Children under 36 inches tall ride the bus free with a paying adult, but children 36 inches and taller must pay full fare. Once you board the bus, insert your pass or money into the fare box which is usually next to the driver, your money is non-refundable. Bus operators generally do not give change, so make sure you have the exact amount needed to pay for the trip. Then find a seat once you are on the bus or if you have to stand up, take a wide stance and it is important to maintain your balance as the bus can slow down or speed up suddenly..
