  • Essay / Genesis 1-11 - 608

Genesis teaches us that in the beginning, God created everything by the word. The earth was dark and there was nothing. God created the planets, the universe, and everything in it, including light and darkness, and separated them to form day and night (Genesis 1-11). God created the natural world that we leave creation in, all in six days with one day of rest. The god of the second day created the sky. On the third day we created the earth and the plants. On the fourth day he created the celestial bodies, the stars, the sun and the moon. The fifth day was all about sea creatures and birds. On the sixth day, the land animals, man and woman, were created. Finally on the seventh day, God rested and blessed the day. This quote “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him there was nothing made that was made (John 1:1-3). This quote explains what I believe and my worldview. The natural world was created by God over time; there was nothing at first. We did not evolve from apes or animals; God is my creator. I completely believe in heaven and hell. Genesis 1-11 introduces human identity and human relationships. God created man in the image of God, a reflection of God, and his purpose in life is to serve God, as God did for us. Women were created to serve as companions to the man of God. People are servants of God, so when we interact with people, it should always reflect God. Everything we do is for God and like God. God loved us and God served us. So, as children of God, it is our duty to love and serve others. We were all created in the image of God. “This is why a man will leave his father and mother and cling to his wife: a...... middle of paper ...and they continued to breed. The last form of civilization came to the Tower of Babel, at that time everyone spoke the same language, it caused people to confuse and speak different languages and then spread them all over the world (Bible Gateway). Civilization affects my worldview because it shows that everyone is sinful, that God can destroy the whole world, and that we will continue to sin. Genesis 1-11 shows that our civilization needs a savior, this affects my world view and a biblical view because others do not recognize what God has done and we need him and all that he did for us.
