The scene from this film that I have chosen to do a musical analysis of is the scene in which HarryPotter and Heromione are walking through the small town in which Harry Potter was born and his family was murdered. They meet a woman whom Harry identifies as knowing Dumbledore, the former headmaster of Hogwarts murdered in a previous film. The house is where I begin my musical analysis and until the end of the scene I will break down the music and the changes throughout the scene. As background information is provided and the characters wander through the apartment, the strings begin to play and the bass drum is struck several times, anticipating some sort of buildup. Gradually in the background you can hear the tension building from the strings and wind section. As Harry and Herrnoine walk through the house, Harry meets the old woman again who begins to speak to him in spoken language. This is where the string tension is very clear in the background. As Hermoine enters a room filled with numerous flying insects, the horns peak for a brief moment, signifying that there may be something she fears behind the door and the
