Chapter IThe problem and its contextIntroductionIn recent years, the growing awareness of water pollution and its large-scale effects has prompted concerted efforts to reduce pollution. There are so many pollutants (bacteria, heavy metals, chemicals, etc.) present in water. If we don't find solutions to clean our water, our marine animals will die. According to Professor Mercedez Cabling of the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, the condition of Nabao Creek was in danger. So we decide to do an experiment that can help break down pollutants in water, but in a less expensive way, we will only use peanut shells. Peanut shell is one of the biggest wastes in the food industry and could be used to extract pollutants from water. Peanut shell can absorb chemicals in water. The objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of peanut shell in degrading pollutants in water and using a carbon filter. Although the industry uses many chemical processes to remove heavy metals from wastewater, most of them are very expensive. This new method appears to be cheaper and more environmentally friendly.Problem StatementThis study aimed to determine the potential of peanut shells as tools to degrade pollutants in water and to clean pollutants from industrial wastewater. In particular, he sought to answer the following questions:1. What are the effects of said experiment applied to water as a filtration treatment?2. What are the limits and limitations of the said experiment to avoid side effects and harm the environment?3. Is there any significance among the treatment applied to other clean and polluted streams in the Philippines?4. HypothesisBased on the previous research experiments...... middle of paper ......se more peanut shell and soak the peanut shell in a short time.AppendicesNabao CreekObtaining water from Nabao CreekPeanut shell60g peanut shell40g peanut shell20g peanut shellsWater with peanut shellsAfter filtering with peanut shellsCharcoalFiltering water with a charcoal filterStudy resultBibliographyBekman S.
