Alex informed me that using her journal has been a powerful tool for her throughout the second half of her internship, allowing her both critical reflection and self-care personal. Throughout the second half of Alex's internship, she showed great growth in her verbal and nonverbal communication skills. The ASC has a diverse clientele with cultural backgrounds, family dynamics, physical and/or mental health concerns and different levels of needs. Alex has shown that she can adapt her communication style to each case she works on, thanks to the different communication styles, ranging from face to face, telephone, email and referral forms. When necessary, Alex was also able to manage the use of our telephone interpreting service with great ease. Alex has also demonstrated excellent teamwork skills, which is reflected in his meetings with other social workers, internal ASC staff in other programs (health, legal, employment) and external professionals, when Alex defends the interests of clients.
