Dear Mr. Frank Bruni, After reading your article “Violence, Greed and the Gridiron” published in the New York Times, I would like to give some of my opinions on your article. Football or rugby is a sport where injuries are considered common. This is not written in your article but I suppose that in rugby, if a player does not have a minor injury then we consider that he did not give the best of himself in the game. But the Injuries sometimes become too serious like that of Tony Dorsett. He was hit in the neck by a helmet which rushed towards him like a Ferrari at 220 km/h. Players like Tony Dorsett get injured almost every day in rugby. These injuries sometimes last a long time and Mr. Dorsett's CTE is a perfect example. “CTE is caused by the player's head hitting his helmet regularly.” This obviously must have done him a lot of harm and perhaps also destroyed his promising and successful career in this game. Rugby is a sport that requires extreme aggression and also a lot of courage, confidence and daring to hold on. The coach...
