Plato once said that music is a moral law. It gives a soul to the universe, wings to the spirit, flight to the imagination, and charm and cheerfulness to life and everything. Whether we know it or not, music is the inspiration of our life. Through the life of a child, we can see the future of a generation. Music has been proven to improve the lives of those who produce it, as well as those of its listeners. Music brings culture back to a world once proud of its individual cultures. Without the guidance of an intelligent individual who knows the ins and outs of music, our generation would be lost in a cultural wasteland. School choir directors can easily be considered leaders of our generation. A teacher affects eternity; I can never tell where his influence ends. – Henry Adams While most would say that music is nothing more than a leisure activity, according to the National Association for Music Education, music should not only be used for pleasure, but it should also be used for the well-being of the mind. During adolescence, the mind is easily influenced. Music allows children and young adults to shape not only their minds, but also their social lives and personalities. The many forms of engagement provide springboards to the future for children and young adults. Through the many different experiences, children and young adults have the opportunity to grow as performers and as people. Music is also an excellent source of improving teamwork, confidences and time management. Music holds the keys to future success. When you are in a leadership role, you must manage your territory. As a section leader, you must manage your section. There are many ways to teach management to a child or young adult.
